Luis Suarez inspires VAMPIRE children's book character after biting controversies
Luis Suarez 's biting controversies have seen him land a new role - as a VAMPIRE in a new children's book.
Author Peter Barron was looking for inspiration for the latest in his Monstrous Morals series when the Uruguayan got embroiled in yet another biting storm.
"When I was writing the book Luis Suarez had been in trouble again for biting another opponent," Barron, from Darlington, said.
"So when I needed a striker to complete my monstrous line-up he seemed to fit the bill."
Daydreaming Daisy McCloud is set in a monsters school and, thanks to Suarez, features a vampire with fangs called Luis.
Suarez has hit the headlines on a number of occasions in his career, firstly in the Netherlands in 2010 when still with Ajax, before the infamous incident with Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic three years later.
The third and most recent saw him tangle with Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at last summer's World Cup, an incident which saw him banned from all football for four months.
But despite the negative connotations Barron hopes the Barcelona man will take the knowing nod in the way it was intended.
"I just hope he sees the funny side of it and the idea doesn't come back to bite me," he added.
