The Tour of Teesside - yerjokinarnya
Welcome to the Tour of Teesside- this event was conceived by Neal our chairman after the hugely successful Whitby to the riverside bike ride held in 2015.
It was always the intention to do a Major sponsored bike ride every year for the Fat Lads on Bikes, so after discussions with Alastair Brownlee who sadly is no longer with us due to losing his own personal battle with Bowel cancer and his friend and fellow BBC match day summariser Neil Maddison, we all agreed that Teesside needed its own cycling event to call our own.
And so after hours of hard work, planning and the determination of everyone who has been involved, The Tour of Teesside was Born, a 44.1 mile route that will see us take in some of the very best scenery that Teesside and the surrounding area has to offer, with further plans to extend the route in 2017 this event will continue to grow year on year.
After careful thought and consideration we thought what better way to include the whole of Teesside than to open this event to other charity’s and give them a chance to be a part of what we do, and hopefully in the process raise funds for their respective charities.
In 2016 we have invited these amazing groups to be a part of the Tour of Teesside:
- The Fat Lads on Bikes and Phat Lasses in Trainers
- The Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Fund
- The Ellen Timney Foundation
- MS Middlesbrough
- Remembering Rebecca
- Rhys Clapton
When you register your place, we ask that you simply pick the charity that you will fund raise for and that chosen charity will then be notified that you have picked them as your chosen charity, they will then contact you direct with a sponsor pack to enable you to raise funds direct for them.
To help you decided we have given each charity a page of their own with each page full of information about what they do and who they do it for, so that you can make an informed choice on who to ride for, once you have decided who to ride for simply complete the registration/payment process and then get training!
This event will continue to grow each year and with more charity’s and groups being invited to join us, and remember big things often have small beginning’s so get involved and enjoy the ride.Download Guide
